Pronounced Ray-Key. This ancient Eastern hands on modality works with our holistic selves – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. It has enjoyed resurgence in modern life because many people in the Western world are looking for ways to help themselves to heal, relax and cope with the stresses of everyday life.
BACKGROUND
The literal translation of Reiki from the Japanese is ‘spiritual energy’ and this form of ‘hands-on healing” has been around for many centuries and is common in many different cultures. Reiki was rediscovered by Mikao Usui in Japan in the1800’s and brought to the western world in the early 1900’s. Since then many hundreds of thousands of people all over the world have benefited from this beautiful, gentle and safe modality.
A TYPICAL SESSION
Usually, the recipient, lies on a massage table full clothed while the practitioner gently puts their hands on your body or holds them just above. The Reiki energy is transferred to you through the practitioner’s hands. You may feel warmth, coolness, tingling, see colours and will feel very relaxed.

REIKI WORKSHOPS (Three levels of the Usui method offered)
Reiki 1
Is a two day workshop where you hear about the history, philosophy and principles. You learn, amongst other things, about the charkas (energy wheels) of the metaphysical body, how to assist in the unblocking of energy and some of the symbols used in Reiki. A major part of this workshop is spent having hands on experience. - $200. >> Calendar
Reiki 2 (Pre-requisite Reiki 1)
Is also a two day workshop where you learn more of the Reiki symbols, about our electromagnetic energy fields (auras) and ways to get in touch with your inner self. A large emphasis in this workshop is on distant/absent healing where you experience sending Reiki energy to yourself, other people, animals, plants and the universe. - $200. >> Calendar
Reiki Master/Teacher (Pre-requisite Reiki 1 and 2)
Involves an in-depth study of Reiki energy and our holistic selves. The course is one on one with the Teacher and runs for 30 hours. Times are made to suit both the student and teacher. Learning to be a Reiki master/teacher allows you to teach Reiki and attune students. - $1000.

The Reiki Workshops run from 9.30am - 4.30pm each day and are held in the Reiki House, Lindisfarne. Please bring a plate to share for lunch and wear comfortable clothes. The maximum number of participants is 6. A folder with information.

REIKI SHARE
Reiki Share is held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 7pm - 9pm. It is a free service and held in the Reiki House, Lindisfarne. This service was started for several reasons;
